Payment Practices Reporting filing window

Large UK companies and LLPs have a statutory duty to publish a payment practices report twice a year, one for each 6-month half of their financial year. Under The Reporting on Payment Practices and Performance Regulations 2017 (SI 2017/395), each report must be published within 30 days of the end of its reporting period. Because reporting periods follow each company's own financial year rather than a single fleet-wide date, the actual deadline varies by company. For a company on a standard calendar financial year, the pattern looks like this:

Common questions

When is the next Bank of England base rate decision?

The next scheduled Monetary Policy Committee decision is 5 November 2026. The Bank of England publishes eight decision dates a year, roughly every six weeks.

How often does the Bank of England set interest rates?

The Monetary Policy Committee meets eight times a year, publishing its Bank Rate decision on a pre-announced Thursday each time, alongside a quarterly Monetary Policy Report in February, April/May, July and November.

How soon must a large company publish its payment practices report?

Within 30 days of the end of its reporting period, under The Reporting on Payment Practices and Performance Regulations 2017 (SI 2017/395). Reporting periods are the company's own two 6-month half-years, so the deadline date itself depends on each company's financial year, not a single fleet-wide date.
